Cartagena’s walled city is the pride ofColombia, this is where you will find el Viajero Cartagena. Located in a uniquecolonial house in a colorful street full of flowers, balconies and nearnature-filled plazas a couple blocks away.

Stay in shared dorms (some are female only)or, if you prefer, in private bedrooms. Start your day like any Colombianwould, enjoying a hot cup of coffee with fresh fruit and more. Wander throughthe city, discover great restaurants in a laid-back town, and keep in mind, ourbar opens at six, and dance lessons start shortly after that! IMPORTANT: We have expanded our capacity so that you and more travelers can enjoy Cartagena with us! We have a new house with more rooms just one block away from the main house where all guests, without exception, must check in and check out.

Terms and Conditions

If your booking is for the "Standard room with bathroom," keep in mind that to enjoy the hostel's free daily activities, as well as the breakfast, restaurant, and bar services, you will have to make your way to the main house (39, Calle 38 #10-45)

*Mandatory: Please bring and show your original passport or Colombian identification for check-in.
Check-in: 14:00 - 23:00

*Note: We have a luggage room at reception, you may store your personal items in case you arrive before check-in time or leave after check-out time.

Taxes: Residents in Colombia must pay a VAT of 19% on the value of their stay. This value does not appear in the final rate of the reservation.

Foreigners and non-resident Colombians are exempt from VAT only if the purpose of their trip is: (a) to receive medical treatment, (b) rest or leisure activities as tourists, (c) to attend or participate in cultural, scientific or , sports, conventions or business, (d) tourist groups in maritime transit of a cruise ship. For this purpose, the passport must be stamped with the TP code with a validity of 90 days.

To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, we reserve the right to accept, decline, and, or remove any guest in circ*mstances that negatively impact the stay of other visitors or violate our policies. Your understanding and cooperation are essential in maintaining a harmonious atmosphere for all.

*All guests must be 18 years or older.

*Small pets (up to 17 kilograms - 34 lbs) are allowed in private rooms only. A maximum of 2 pets are allowed per room. Your stay has an additional cost of 15 USD. Assistance dogs or guide dogs will always be allowed in any of our outlets and are free of charge as long as the owner presents a certificate confirming that their dog is an Assistance or guide dog. At check-in, a copy of the pet's passport must be presented. *You must review additional policies, at the time of check-in, about the care of your pet during your stay.

*Payment upon arrival by cash, credit or debit card. (This property may pre-authorize your card before arrival).
*Important information: Remember we don't have hot water in our showers.

*Breakfast is NOT included in the rates. You can purchase it at a special price when confirming and completing your reservation through the website, by contacting us via WhatsApp, or at the reception upon your arrival. Please note that the promotion does not apply after check-in.

*Our single and double rooms are distributed between the hostel and a more private annex building. If you require privacy please contact us in advance to assign the room in the Annex (subject to availability).
