myVHA is a client portal that VHA Home HealthCare (VHA) has created to give our clients greater control over how and when they receive care. It is designed to enhance our ability to communicate effectively with our clients and their families.

How do I register?

All VHA clients who receive personal support service and shift nursing services from VHA have access to the myVHA portal. Clients visiting VHA’s nursing clinics also now have access to the myVHA client portal. This includes clients visiting our Fairview clinic located on Fairview Mall Drive in Toronto, our North Clinic located on Eglinton Avenue West in Toronto and our Malton Integrated Care Clinic located on Traders Blvd East in Mississauga. Updates on access for clients receiving other services from VHA will be provided soon.

Is there any training available to me?

VHA has created a training guide for clients and their families who want to improve their usability with the myVHA Client Portal. The training guide is a course that our clients and their caregivers can take which shows step-by-step instructions on how to navigate the site and complete actions such as viewing your schedule, updating your profile, cancelling or rescheduling a visit, etc. The guide will continue to be updated as new features and changes are introduced as well.

VHA is committed to providing high quality, client-centred care and the myVHA client portal will help us to communicate more effectively with the clients and families we serve. By using the portal, we expect clients will need to call in to our client care office team less often. This will also help our client care office team respond to queries more efficiently.

myVHA was co-designed with clients and their family members as well as with VHA staff and service providers to help make sure it is easy to use and provides access to the information our clients need.

myVHA can be accessed by going to www.myvha.vha.ca. To register to use myVHA, go to this website and enter your name and email address and click the link to register. If VHA has your email in our system, you will receive an email to set up a personal password. If we do not yet have your email in our system, you will receive an error message asking you to contact our client care office team to set up your access.

myVHA can be accessed on a cell phone, tablet or computer. It can be accessed from anywhere at any time that is convenient for you.

Eligible clients are able to see their scheduled visits and have the ability to cancel visits or request that visits be rescheduled. Clients are also able to access the latest news from VHA through the portal. Clients can also see the first name and picture of the provider who will be coming for upcoming visits.

We are currently working on providing the ability for clients toinvite others, such as family members, friends or caregivers, to have read only or full access to theirmyVHA account as long as the contact is listed in VHA’s system. Clients will also be able to receive notifications of visit changes on the portal and provide Personal Preferences related to service. In addition, clients receiving nursing and rehab services from VHA will have access tomyVHA in the future. We will provide updates on these services as they become available.

Yes. myVHA is a completely secure platform. VHA Home HealthCare understands the extreme sensitivity of your personal health information and takes all necessary measures to ensure the privacy and security of information in the myVHA client portal.

For details about VHA’s privacy and security practices, please visit the privacy section on our website or contact VHA’s privacy officer at privacy@vha.ca. Please be sure to play your part to ensure the information remains protected. Do not share your password or login details with anyone unless you want them to have access to your information. Whenever you log into the portal, be sure you are in a private space and no one else can view the information, other than those you wish to see it. If you forget your password, open the myvha.vha.ca site and click on the “Reset Password” link. Follow the prompts to reset your password.

The myVHA client portal currently allows for one Client specific login to be created. We understand the need for loved ones and caregivers to have their own logins as well so we will be adding a multi-accounts feature. Clients will be able to invite family members and others to have read only or full access to their account, provided the contact is listed in VHA’s system. We are currently co-designing this feature with client partners and providers. Further information about this will be provided when this functionality becomes available.

If you are receiving Rehab Services in addition to Personal Support or Shift/Clinic Nursing, you will not see any of your Rehab Visits listed in your Calendar on the myVHA portal. The same applies for any Visiting Nursing Visits as these service types have not yet been released for display on the portal. We plan for these services to be fully accessible on myVHA in the future and will provide updates as they become available.

VHA offers volunteer support for things like technology adoption which can help you feel more comfortable using the myVHA client portal. We encourage you to contact our technical support team through email for assistance at myvha@vha.ca.

We want to ensure you receive the personal support care you need during your PSW visits.

For clients who do not regularly use technology and feel like they may not know how to use the myVHA client portal, volunteer support is available for things like technology adoption. We encourage you to contact our technical support team for assistance if needed. They can be reached by emailing myvha@vha.ca.

No, using the myVHA client portal is completely optional. We know some clients will appreciate the ability to view their schedules in this way, and we are pleased to be able to make this tool available for them, while other clients will prefer to continue to call in to our client care office team.

myVHA is currently only available in English. It will be available in French in the future. We aim to makemyVHAaccessible in other languages in the future as well.
