Once the all-clear had been given prince Pac sprinted down to the infirmary, slamming the door of the safe room open. A surprise attack was nothing new to him given his title as a prince but he was worried about his knight Fit. It only grew worse upon hearing that he was injured as well, nearly becoming fatal. When first given the news Pac's mind was flooded with questions. What could have happened? Was he doing something stupid? Is he going to die? He could only think back to what had happened right at the start of the invasion.

The two of them had been walking down the hallway toward where the next meeting was being held. Dreading how long it would take, Pac was trying to stall his arrival as long as he could Fit dragging him along. The knight had been assigned to the prince a few months ago and the two had grown close, enough that they could have friendly conversations with each other and share jokes. Pac was about to comment about one of the council members when he felt Fit's hand on his shoulder, pushing him out of the way of a sword’s blade just before the attack started, his own clashing with the intruders.

"Get to the safe room I'll meet you there, I promise!" Fit yelled out before pushing Pac towards another guard who stood nearby. As much as it pained him to not protect the prince himself, he knew it was the best way to keep him safe. Focusing on the intruder in front of him, Fit blocked the attack and drew him back away from Pac.

"I'm not leaving without you Fitch! I'm staying here!" Pac attempted to remove his own sword from its scabbard but couldn't once the other knight picked him up and ran off to the safe room. He began hitting their back in a failed attempt to get to put him down, but could only watch the safe room doors close as Fit fought with the invader at the end of the hallway.

Pac knew that injury came with the job Fit had but he also had gotten quite fond of his knight the more time they spent together. He knew how to make him laugh when he needed cheering up, and would comfort him when he cried. Listen to him talk for hours and hours. Now at the infirmary door, Pac paused trying to catch his breath before stepping inside.

The room had beds lined up along two sides of the room, a chair for the doctor next to each one, or for visitors to use when they came to visit their loved ones. Small tables were placed next to each bed to store people’s belongings as well as any medicine that would need to be given to patients if needed. Lucky for Pac he would not have to look very hard to find the person he was looking for. By some miracle, he was the only person injured during the invasion, so the infirmary lay empty. Pac didn't have to walk into the room far to find the person he wanted to see the most. Sitting upright in the bed looking out towards the window was Fit. His armor and torn green undershirt were placed on the table next to him, boots sat neatly on the floor next to the bed, and bandages covering the upper half of his body.

Fit immediately took notice of the new presence in the room, his eyes lighting up upon releasing it was Pac and not the doctor coming back. That joy did not seem to last as he noticed anger and worry showing on his face. Some tears threatened to spill from his eyes as he sat down in the chair next to his bed, gently squeezing his hand before letting go to smack his arm.

“I was so worried about you Fitch! You nearly died out there what the hell was that about?” Pac made no attempt to disguise the anger in his voice and knew Fit could tell. Any time he got injured Pac was usually the first person to visit him in the infirmary. The two of them grew closer than any other assignment Fit had been given. If the royal family knew the details, he had no doubt he’d be thrown into the dungeons. “I could have helped you drive them off. I could have tried to distract him so you could escape.” He began to ramble off about more methods they could have used to defeat the invader instead of Fit sending him off to safety, causing a laugh to escape Fit who put a hand on Pac’s shoulder.

“Pac. There was no way I was going to let that happen. Keeping you safe is my priority, plus I had that guy until his friend showed up and tried to slice me in half” Immediately after saying what happened, Fit could see a look of horror cross Pac’s face, regretting his words in an instant.

“They stabbed you!? Fit why didn't you wait for backup!” Pac’s voice rose as he glared at Fit, anger bubbling up to the surface as he stared at his knight.

“It would have taken too long, and it gave you time to leave and stay safe. That is my sworn duty as a knight, even at the cost of my own life. If it means you survive, I’d gladly sacrifice my life to save yours.” Fit paused in his words, taking the time to reach out and gently hold Pac’s face in his hand the action causing the prince to freeze up.

However, the next action neither of them was prepared for. Pac stared at Fit before crashing his lips onto his. Pouring all the emotion he held in hoping that Fit would get the message. Pulling away before Fit could respond, Pac sat back down in the chair, his eyes holding nothing but love and worry for his knight.

“One of these days I may actually punch you for saying something as f*cking dumb as that. You matter Fitch. You matter so much to mean you how have you not realized that by now.”

Fit was dumbstruck. Sure he had thought of this moment happening in his head so many times. Never did he think Pac would be the one to initiate anything. “Not sure Your Highness, maybe you have to show me again.” He smiled as Pac rolled his eyes before kissing him again, this time responding to it. The longer the kiss went on, the more emotions poured into it, Fit wrapping his arms around Pac’s waist, Pac’s moving up towards his neck. Eventually, the need for air overtook the desire to kiss longer forcing the two apart, resting their foreheads together.

Pac couldn't help but press a small kiss to the knight's forehead, big grins on both of their faces. “Te amo Fitch.”

Fit smiled still holding a hand on his cheek. “I love you too Pac.”
